Super Moon Sunday March 20th 2011

I took these photos between 1:30 and 2:30 am, the moon was 99.3% of full. The dark areas are limbs of a tree between the moon and my lens.

Banff Alberta

Photos of the Bow River two blocks from downtown Banff.

The Bow Glacier is the beginning of this river and a it is a tributary of the South Saskatchewan River. I am not sure why they call it the Saskatchewan River since it located on the border between Alberta and British Columbia. Perhaps a geography major would know?

A few photos from this past summer...

This is a view of Jasper, Alberta from near Whisters Summit. Locals say the name  Jasper was chosen because the town forms the letter "J" around the surrounding hills.
This photo I took is in Kananaskis Country in south western Alberta and the first time I was ever mooned by a deer. He has made his mark on the road and I'm not sure if I should cross it!

These runoff streams are everywhere in Jasper National Park, which end up in the Sunwapta River.

Nassau in the Bahamas

A panoramic view of the entrance to Nassau Harbour

After watching this police officer for ten minutes, I realized this is probably one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. He is standing facing one-way traffic, no lane pavement markings anywhere, vehicles sometimes two wide and sometime four wide. There are no traffic lights and no stop or yield signs. To make matters worse, he is located in the middle of an intersection, to his right two blocks is the busy cruise terminal, this street has two way traffic.

His signals were direct and not once did I see those white gloves covering his eyes!

Paradise Island and the Atlantis Hotel and Casino. The smaller building next to the Atlantis is the Riu Palace
One of the yachts at Atlantis. The two gentlemen on deck are watching a hockey game on a flat screen on the wall, outdoors!

I have been requested to show more Shuttle photos...

These photos were taken from the Port Canaveral Pier 13 miles from the launch pad with a 400 mm lens.

Cloudy at launch time.

This photo below was one I took in February of 2010, a night launch at 4:00 am., an exposure of 9 minutes and 32 seconds, from launch and until the shuttle disappeared over the horizon.

More of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge in Florida

Not sure if this is a Little Blue Heron?

Looks more like a ghost than a reflection!

Some of the fattest Duck I've seen.

Great Blue Heron

Ever wonder how many neck positions  a Brown Pelican has?

Not sure what variety of shore bird?
